    Candace's Corner of The World

It is very interesting to observe what essential oils are doing for human beings right now at this time in history on this planet. As many of you know, John and I have a traditional Anniversary Sale every June, and Christmas/Holiday Sale every November. This means I speak or email with hundreds of you twice a year, and I personally call as many as I can. What an aromathic telethon this is!

What I hear the most is how we've all dealt with many stressful times in our lives, and managed to hold onto the balance as we went through it. However, right now many feel pushed over the edge with insecure feelings of the unknown, the losses already endured, and the path we're on with no road map as to what we might expect as we get over this next mountain. This means the way we think about things is changing, and this needs to happen to continue the climb and chart our course.

Many people are telling me the essential oils are a major help with the stress. They may not purchase as many as they would like, but they're not willing to give up their most comforting essential oil, mist, blend or gel.

My sense is that essential oils are really coming into their own, in terms of what they are here to do. Since the beginning of time they have served human beings in (1) protecting our health (physical and nonphysical), (2) assisting us through transitions of ALL kinds, and (3) celebrating the joys of life with us. So if we ever needed them to "protect" our mental, emotional and physical health, and assist us through transitions... it is NOW.

I always felt I was ahead of my time when I started working with essential oils in the late 1980's...and John and I didn't know what this year had in store for us in terms of the economics of our little company. To be up 25% from last year, hear from people we've not heard from in many years, and hear stories of relief and gratitude ... is a heartfelt reward beyond words. I always say: "Aroma is the silent language of the soul." So be it ... and thank you for being here. Anchor deep as you walk your path, one sacred step at a time, and be a light in the world to yourself and others. We can all do this together.

    What's On YOUR Mind?

What are some others things you can do for your aromatic sanctuary?
    (1) Put Knowsy the Lavender Moose in your spot and put a drop of Lavender or your favorite pure essentil oil on his nose. He is so healing to touch and hold. Stuffed animals bring joy to all ages. We sell more Knowsys to adults than to children.

    (2) Put a few drops of our Precious Christmas Oil in a room diffuser or in a warm pot of water to infuse the aromas of Pine, Orange, Cinnamon and Clove in your spot.

    (3) If you spend a lot of time in your car, make an aromatic car sanctuary for youself. Keep a soothing mist with you and mist often. Put a cotton ball with your favorite pure essential oil on it in a special spot. Don't put the pure essential oil on the dashboard. It can take the enamel or finish right off a surface.

    (4) Lavender Mist your pillow at night to wash away the day and bring on the sweet sleep of night.

    Create Your Aromatic Sanctuary

There are lots of things we cannot control in life, and they can overwhelm us if we let them. We can control what pair of glasses we put on to see the events, how we decide we will think and feel about it all, and we can create a sanctuary of aromas for retreat and comfort. It's like getting back to the well for a drink of water. Sometimes we feel like we have to drag ourself across the desert to get there. So let's see what we can do about creating this "spot" and keeping a little bit of it with us wherever we go.

Choose to enjoy your holidays by staying mentally and physically healthy. One of the elements that can help with this is the precious gift and medicine of old of essential oils. While they are protecting your health, and assisting you through transitions, let them help you enjoy and celebrate this season as it was always meant to be.

This can be as simple as setting up a room diffuser with your favorite essential oil and a bottle of your favorite mist on the table or desk to get a "breath of fresh air" anytime. Keep some bottles of your favorite pure essential oils right here too. Select the one that is right for that moment. Close your eyes, take 5-7 deep breaths and sit quietly as your reflect and affirm the strength and love that is deep within you.

The act of setting up a "special aromatic spot" is a stress-reducing act by itself. Do it consciously. Select a place or part of a table that is meaningful to you. Maybe this is by a window with a nature view. Put down a cloth and select some special trays or dishes that you love to look at and touch. Put a little dish of cotton balls here, so you can add a few drops of pure oil to one and carry it with you (close to you heart and lungs is good). You can also make a personal cotton ball diffuser for someone else to "make their day".

Add some other things to this "area" that make you feel good just to look at it. Flowers, stones, candles, a favorite book are just a few ideas. I feel good just thinking about this.

Essential oils are timeless and cross-cultural. One of their best qualities is their natural ability to soothe our emotional state. Find "your aroma" and your life will change.

Diffusers are a wonderful way to create a sacred space in your home and office with the energy of essential oils. They help us stay healthy and deal with the memories and emotions of the holidays. Diffusers allow us to be wrapped in the gentle comfort of lovely aromas. Choose your favorite ones. Be gentle with yourself ... life is precious.

Our Spa Scenter Room Diffuser (my first choice for diffusers after many years and many diffusers) is our featured item in the December Special of our Baker's Dozen Holiday Gifts. Many of these items can help you create your aromatic sanctuary! See "This Month's Spotlight".
